Marion County officials celebrate new spec building groundbreaking
Former South Carolina Lt. Gov. Yancey McGIll was named chairman of the North Eastern Strategic Alliance (NESA) executive committee at the committee’s meeting November 2.
Southern Current, a leading developer in the residential, commercial and utility-scale solar markets, is expanding its solar farm portfolio with five new solar facilities in Marion County. The company is projected to invest a total of approximately $16 million in the projects.
Coronal Energy, a leading independent solar power and energy storage provider, today announced plans for the construction of a new solar project -- the Rankin Solar Center -- in Florence County. The new development is projected to bring approximately $15 million of capital investment.

ARCTIC, an international company specializing in computer-cooling devices, will locate its first American venture in Quinby with plans to convert the former IGA building in the Quinby Plaza into a combination of warehouse and office space.
Another moment of progress happened as a group celebrated a groundbreaking ceremony for a “spec” building in Williamsburg County. Williamsburg County Development Corporation Executive Director Jim Moore welcomed industry leaders, key allies such as the S.C. Department of Commerce, Santee Electric Cooperative, NESA, and the South Carolina Power Team as well as other funding partners who have been instrumental in making the building become a reality.
Dynamic Brands, a Richmond, Va.-headquartered parent company for a portfolio of premium golf and recreational accessory brands, is relocating manufacturing and warehouse operations to Chesterfield County. The company’s $3.8 million capital investment is projected to create at least 12 new jobs.
